The Regional Applied Communications Program

The RACP is one of the Core Services provided by the Regional Research & Development Consortium (in our case, the Highland Agriculture & Resources Research & Development Consortium or HARRDEC).

The RACP is a support service program that focused on the effective and efficient dissemination and utilization of mature technologies or significant information through publications, instructional materials, mass media, linkages, communication research projects, and communication training courses.

The designated employee to man the program is known as RACO (O for Officer) or RACP Representative, or simply RACP.

For the Research and Extension functions of KASC, MARCIANO A. PAROY JR. first sat as RACO in 2006, with a two-year break from 2008-2010 during a study leave, after which he resumed RACP duties - up to the present.

The wealth of media materials that are produced at the RDE unit of KASC are RACP outputs, and they are classified as either:

1) Support Communication Materials (leaflets, brochures, techno-guides)

2) Outdoor & Bulletin Materials (posters)

3) Audio-Visual Outputs (flash vids, presentation materials, broadcast outputs)

4) Electronic Media (online publication of RDE matters)

This Menu, RACP Archives, contains some of these outputs.

With their tandem, both the RACP and the RMIS put into operations their expertise on content creation (writing and designing), media and research ethics, organizing, protocol, artistry, communication and promotion - plus proofreading and copyreading skills.

Functions do not overlap though. RMIS is "the science" while RACP is "the art." If RMIS is the cake, then RACP is the icing. Together, the RMIS and the RACP shed spotlight on KASC's Research, Development & Extension programs and projects, beaming it all the way to the HARRDEC Regional Headquarters --- and beyond.
